My decision to support charities dedicated to Wildlife and Nature comes from my passion for hiking and photographing the wide variety of fauna (and flora) that I encounter in the wild spaces of Virginia and Maryland.
In selecting charities, I checked the ratings at charitynavigator.com to ensure these organizations dedicated over 65% of their intake to the programs they advertise.
And, the primary purpose of these charities is the preservation of wildlife and habitats, and the education of the public about wildlife and Nature.
While there are many good charities that are worthy of receiving donations, I am not donating to organizations whose primary purpose is lobbying and litigation.
I want my dollars to go to wildlife and to opportunities for us to enjoy wildlife.
I will regularly update this website with the totals donated and the names of the organizations that received donations.
Potential charities include (as of December, 2021): National Wildlife Federation, National Audubon Society, National Park Foundation, The Arbor Day Foundation.
